News * New

hi, I'm Rachel (PR freelancer, ex-fashion school student and founder of TSF.com). I started the blog way back in 2005 (before there was barely anything about Toronto fashion online) and spent many really fun years documenting fashion and street fashion in Toronto!

I recently had my second baby boy and my days of fashion parties, designer shows and frivolous shopping are but a happy memory. I still work a little on the blog, do other freelance writing and PR when I can!

So, please don't feel offended if I haven't responded to your E-mail, party invite or store opening. I do pass invites along to other bloggers though and we try to cover what we can!

Thanks for reading!

Plumage Galore @ The Clothing Show this Weekend!

Tuesday, September 20th, 2011

The Clothing Show is this weekend and like I’ve said a million times – it’s the greatest place to stock up on local designer clothing, big name sample sale sell offs, vintage finds, jewellery, purses and bags and even shoes!

Feathers seem to be still going strong! This is just a snippet of some of the feathery finds at the show:

2nd annual Parkdale Then & Now Festival
Saturday, July 23, 2011

There are a handful of great boutiques and artists in Toronto’s Parkdale neighbourhood (way out on Queen West past Dufferin) – but I’m featuring Common Sort, a funky little second-hand/vintage shop and Wolfie Clothing, a line of hand-drawn prints on tees and stuff by artist Nicole Brayshaw Bond because they both e-mailed me!

Photos of hand-picked, recycled fashions @ Common Sort, 1414 Queen Street West

I love these Wolfie prints by Wolfie Clothing: Boyfriend Material Tee and Larry David pillow

Both vendors and a ton more will be at the 2nd annual Parkdale Then & Now Festival this Saturday July 23, 2011 – a giant celebration of everything Parkdale!

What’s Going On:
-HUGE Sidewalk Sale (200 businesses)
-Classic Car Show
-Buskers
-Community Performance Stages
-Triller Avenue BBQ Zone
-Skateboard Installation @ Dowling Avenue
-Fuller Avenue Kid’s Zone
-O’Hara Street Party
-Elm Grove Summer Market
-1303 Parkdale Bazaar
-Dufferin Amphitheatre Performance Zone

Etsy: Crafters for Japan Disaster Relief

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

Not that it needs to be said – but just because we don’t write about the *much more important* ails of the world, doesn’t mean of course that we don’t care…

Moving on, I received an E-mail from Jenn Woodall – a Ryerson grad and costume designer. She’s been busy sewing Japan Disaster Relief pouches – and selling on Etsy for $10 with 50% of the proceeds going to the Red Cross.

I don’t have to tell you – but pouches are soooo convenient to hold everything separately in your bag – change, camera, glasses, pens, etc….

Other Items on Etsy for Japan:

Topnotch is selling these simplistic bracelets and donating all proceeds > | Cedarridgertrading is selling these little beaded flowers to help >

Love Japan pouch from Tokyoinspired > | Japan tote at Whodoesntwantthat >

Man Bags by Guy Latulippe

Sunday, February 27th, 2011

Proudly made in Canada, Guy Tulippe is a self-proclaimed “garment engineer”: designing, sewing and sourcing parts for his one-of-a-kind handbags, totes and duffles. Love the tie-dye stuff – all available on Etsy.

Whimsical Wearables

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

Very impressive, this crafty Torontonian has managed over 900 sales in three years selling her adorable, inexpensive silver and gold plated jewellery on her Etsy site. Love the bunnies!

Sweet!

Think I’m hungry…
I’ve been looking at all these delectable little rings made by Seneca grad Candice Ware on Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Candychick.

Because we really do live where the streets are paved with gold…
