News * New

hi, I'm Rachel (PR freelancer, ex-fashion school student and founder of TSF.com). I started the blog way back in 2005 (before there was barely anything about Toronto fashion online) and spent many really fun years documenting fashion and street fashion in Toronto!

I recently had my second baby boy and my days of fashion parties, designer shows and frivolous shopping are but a happy memory. I still work a little on the blog, do other freelance writing and PR when I can!

So, please don't feel offended if I haven't responded to your E-mail, party invite or store opening. I do pass invites along to other bloggers though and we try to cover what we can!

Thanks for reading!

CityLine’s Fashion Fridays: Winners, Sandra Pittana & David Dixon’s LBDs

Friday, October 14th, 2011

CityLine has been on forever! Of course Marilyn Denis hosted the show for eternity (now she has her own great daytime show) – and now Tracy Moore talks fashion, home decor, home improvements, cooking, beauty and gardening every day during the week.

Every Friday is Fashion Friday – usually pretty good especially when someone like Sandra Pittana has styled some fabulous new “accessible” looks from some popular store – and it’s not only for suburban women!

I don’t always watch the 10 a.m show but caught some of it today with a Winners fashion show – and a David Dixon feature with his collaboration of little black dresses with The Bay (which by the way are all on sale for $105 right now!) Honestly, these LBDs look way better on and with accessories – but there’s really a look for almost everyone!

What to Wear This Spring c/o Boat People Vintage

Monday, March 28th, 2011

Today’s online vintage shops have really stepped up their marketing game with not only providing quality picked merch, but by providing photos and style ideas to give potential buyers a idea how to wear items.

After all, it takes talent to be able to sift through old, second-hand items and envision an awesome outfit.

Boat People Vintage, a Quebec City based online vintage stop, does most of the work for newbie vintage buyers – Check out the photos and great style ideas. But you better hurry, stuff goes very quick! (not everything shown is still available)

Well Dressed @ the Ballet

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

Oh what to wear?!
As dress codes continue to relax, it can be hard to know how to dress for an occasion. Previously, society events like the ballet meant full length gowns and blinding bling, but that has since relaxed leaving many fashionistas wondering, what’s appropriate?

The following gallery looks at some of the best dressed gals at the opening of Swan Lake, performed by the Mariinsky (Kirov) Ballet at the Sony Centre last week (hmm, would a ballet at The Four Seasons Centre draw a classier costume?) While none rocked the ostentatious full on glamour of yore, each looked chic in their furs, designer finery and fabulous frocks.

The LCBOs Classic 60s Cocktail Event

Saturday, February 5th, 2011

The elevator for The Carlu in Toronto did double duty as a time machine as it whisked guests to the LCBO Classic Cocktails event last Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011. The guest of honor was award winning Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant (shown in red at bottom), who gave a talk on her perspective of 1960’s fashion and its influence on modern pop culture. To get in the retro spirit, guests were treated to Don Draper-esque cocktails like the Moscow Mule, Negroni and Tequila Sunrise; mixed up by hot shot bartenders doing tricks behind the bar. The dress code on the invitation suggested 1960’s vintage or classic cocktail attire and guests came in costume donning vintage dresses, Mary Janes and fur stoles.
