The rain pulled the curtain on the highly anticipated
Metric performance at Centre Island last Sunday, the final day of Wakestock. Scarf-bearing, braided-hippie-hairbanded fans cooled off in the wet weather that started coming down as the Toronto based band took stage. Frontwoman and emerging Toronto style icon
Emily Haines, known for her retro-inspired mini dresses, vintage tees and funky sunglasses didn’t disappoint with costume or performance at this show. The blond, sugary-voiced songstress rocked out wearing a tiny silver romper with an open back and delicate flutter sleeves. She danced on stage in violet, pointy-toed booties.
Opening for Metric was electropop band
Dragonette from Toronto and London, and rockers
We Are Scientists, who hail from NYC. Dragonette’s Martina Sorbara spiced up the stage with a belted cerise high-waisted short, paired with a simple white tank. The guys from We Are Scientists kept it city slick casual with skinny jeans and tees.
