You may have seen Toronto-based illustrator and Sheridan grad Melinda Josie’s kitty illustration’s in the current Little Burgundy campaign (shown). She works as a freelancer illustrating children’s books, doing editorial work, creating textile designs, and making fine art for gallery shows and commissions – but I think she’s on to something with these fashionable cats!

Another Toronto resident who also studied at Sheridan (Interpretive Illustration) is illustrator Chloe Cushman – her well-dressed subjects happen to be giraffes and lions – love it!

Indie-music and indie films! Open Roof Festival is a Toronto summer movie series located outdoors at the Amsterdam Brewery. Accessible by car, transit and bicycle, the venue opens at 7:30 PM each evening, with a local band coming on shortly thereafter, and films commencing at sundown.

$5~ (free with a donation of leather pants/skirt)
Here’s how it works: Bring your gently loved clothing . There is a $5~ admission fee that will go to help fund PACTfashion – OR you can bring your used leather pants/skirt instead of admission. Then swap away, dear fashionistas! The more, the merrier!
Bring your out of date leather and swap it for something better! PACTfashion wants those old clothes! Help the PACTfashionistas start their very own clothing line – funds raised (and leather donated) from PACTfashion SWAP will be used to create a fun, wearable clothing line from the kids at PACTfashion!
PACT is a charity that is creating urban peace in Toronto through experiential learning. PACTFashion is a real world sewing and design school for at risk youth and youth in conflict with the law across the GTA.
PACTFashion is sponsored by Fabricland and brought to life in partnership with THE MAKE DEN, A VINTAGE INSPIRED SEWING STUDIO at 1207 BLOOR ST. W.
