Andy The Ahn rocks the fashion week crowd with blaring heavy metal music and to die for designs. Each model who walks the smoke filled runway brings shouts and gasps from the audience – the women on either side of me are literally moaning with delight! Black, white and caramel Goddess dresses lovingly wrap the bodice and fall into yards and yards of chiffon which flow with pleated precision and grace. Luxurious cowl-hooded dresses are cinched with belts somewhere between an obe and a corset, clinging ruched fabric hugs the hips and falls to the floor with a heart-stopping finish. Your exit from a room will be even more dramatic than
your entry if you’re wearing Canada’s hottest designer.
From the front a black wool skirt appears simple, in the back he creates
a swinging carwash hem, encrusted with massive rhinestones. The Ahn
contrasts wool with chiffon ingeniously emerging from merino wool, peaking
from inside pleats or falling from the hips. All praise to the winter
white suit! Pencil skirts are topped high collared fitted jackets and
ruched full length sleeves. With white cowl-hooded dresses and shouts
of praise the show screeched to a halt, leaving the audience breathless
and panting for more. Liza Zadwazka |
