News * New

hi, I'm Rachel (PR freelancer, ex-fashion school student and founder of TSF.com). I started the blog way back in 2005 (before there was barely anything about Toronto fashion online) and spent many really fun years documenting fashion and street fashion in Toronto!

I recently had my second baby boy and my days of fashion parties, designer shows and frivolous shopping are but a happy memory. I still work a little on the blog, do other freelance writing and PR when I can!

So, please don't feel offended if I haven't responded to your E-mail, party invite or store opening. I do pass invites along to other bloggers though and we try to cover what we can!

Thanks for reading!

Pattern Pants Trend @ NY Fashion Week (SS12)

Friday, September 16th, 2011

This trend showed itself a little this past summer in our favorite shops but believe me, since we’re seeing it on the well-dressed of New York City now and on spring 2012 runways – it will only gain momentum later!

DIY Couture: Hot Designer Ideas for Fall

Wednesday, September 7th, 2011

photo via >>

Back to School already – and who’s prepared?! Certainly not me.  Although I’m ready to trash my summer wardrobe, I still haven’t wrapped my head around all the coverage of Fall clothing. But Fall means back to business, so a perfect time for a DIY Couture:

I love this site > Ren Ariel Sano of Semi Jewels does the coolest DIYs and makes it all look so easy!

She put together this really easy but very cool Chanel Cut-Out Gloves DIY – And wow, the finished product looks great! All it takes is some leather gloves, a pen and exacto knife and a steady hand.

Although a few seasons old, this DIY Studded Bag would be awesome for Fall. What a great way to make a boring ol’ bag look fabulous!

Ivania from Love-Aesthetics also has some really great, easy DIY’s. Made re-popular by Maison Martin Margiela, this cut out blouse is seems easy enough to DIY >> See how it’s done on Love-Aesthetics >>

Summer Toes: Yellow, White, Blue from The Kit

Wednesday, June 29th, 2011

If you haven’t seen it yet - The Kit – is Canada’s newest (maybe only?) digital beauty magazine. But it is top-notch, totally professional! All the editors are well-experienced and publish really useful info – but again, it’s all online.

I have to say, although I prefer paper mags, this one is really easy to navigate and it’s interactive – love these summer toes! When you’re on The Kit – just click on your fav polish for shopping info!

What to Wear This Spring c/o Boat People Vintage

Monday, March 28th, 2011

Today’s online vintage shops have really stepped up their marketing game with not only providing quality picked merch, but by providing photos and style ideas to give potential buyers a idea how to wear items.

After all, it takes talent to be able to sift through old, second-hand items and envision an awesome outfit.

Boat People Vintage, a Quebec City based online vintage stop, does most of the work for newbie vintage buyers – Check out the photos and great style ideas. But you better hurry, stuff goes very quick! (not everything shown is still available)

Aldo’s Global Bazaar: Shoes, Hats & Accessories under $100

Monday, March 21st, 2011

The latest ‘global’ trend for Spring 2011 has actually been around for eternity – Beautiful, colorful prints, exotic  looks, leather, nude tones and animal motifs. The only upside of it becoming so popular is that price points have plummeted. Everything here is under $100 at Aldo and Aldo Accessories.

Joe Fresh Spring 2011 Lookbook

Friday, March 18th, 2011

By now you’ve got to know that Joe is the ‘cheap & chic’ line of clothes and accessories that is mainly sold in Loblaws Superstores across Canada. The brainchild of Creative Director Joe Mimran (Club Monaco/Alfred Sung/Caban ) – the Joe Fresh clothing that comes out every season is totally trendy and very affordable! And I always say, I love the kids stuff.

I loved the Joe show at L’Oreal Fashion Week last October (see the photos here >>) – but here are some pics from the current lookbook. As always, the styling is top-notch. There are some really great ideas on how to put together trendy basics (note: button-downs under shirts…)
