News * New

hi, I'm Rachel (PR freelancer, ex-fashion school student and founder of TSF.com). I started the blog way back in 2005 (before there was barely anything about Toronto fashion online) and spent many really fun years documenting fashion and street fashion in Toronto!

I recently had my second baby boy and my days of fashion parties, designer shows and frivolous shopping are but a happy memory. I still work a little on the blog, do other freelance writing and PR when I can!

So, please don't feel offended if I haven't responded to your E-mail, party invite or store opening. I do pass invites along to other bloggers though and we try to cover what we can!

Thanks for reading!

Canada’s Walk of Fame

Canadian singers Chantal Kreviazuk and husband Raine Maida @ the 2011 Canada Walk of Fame event. She performed… What a great dress! Perfect for the Canadian event although designed by her L.A. designer friend…

Corporate Farmer: The New Trend for Men

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

Gingham, Plaid & Prints @ Sharp: The Book for Men (Winter 2011 edition) Party

Looking like anything but farmers in suiting with checkered shirts at Tom Ford!

In Toronto – The launch of Sharp Magazine’s semiannual style bible always brings gentlemen out dressed to impress. While there was plenty of classic suiting and leather jackets spotted, I couldn’t help but notice there were plenty of guys rocking a corporate farmer look. Maybe it’s because Thanksgiving is only a couple weekends away or maybe they do farm, but these guys were rocking gingham or plaid shirts under their suits. Some even went so far as to have the cuffs sticking out from the jacket sleeves.

Other key mens style notes for the evening included pocket squares and mixed patterns. See pictures below for a view of the corporate farmer look. I say ye-haw! but what do you think?!

For some Jak and Jil style (but not nearly as stunning) candid fashion week galleries, check out Lewis Mirrett’s street style photos at Fashion Magazine >> (I have to say the one’s from Paris look so much better bien sur!)

Joe Fresh Queen St. West “Runway” Location

Friday, October 14th, 2011

We love Joe Fresh! It’s chic, cheap – can be mixed up and worn with even the most expensive designer items. Almost all of my most fashionable friends admit to shopping at Joe Fresh every once in awhile, which is pretty impressive for a chain brand of clothes that are sold in the grocery store.

Well, actually Joe Fresh is on fast-forward, opening plenty of stand-alone stores all over Canada and even smack dab in the middle of Manhattan! Currently, T.O gals in the know are excited for the latest Joe Fresh locale – at Queen and Portland – which is rumored to be the only Joe Fresh store in Toronto offering almost all of the Joe Fresh runway and ready-to-wear pieces. Joe might not be so cheap anymore…

Toronto’s Rogue Fashion Week & The ShOws

Friday, October 14th, 2011

One of my favorite sites to follow LG Fashion Week in Toronto is Peroni Moda Files by top stylist Amy Lu and photographer Kevin Gonsalves. And now, fortunately for me they’re out and about at The shOws – Toronto’s rogue “off-site” line-up of fashion shows and events produced by the clearly gutsy Paola Fullerton (she is after all, practically going up agains FDCC prez Robin Kay…)

Amazingly talented Canadian fashion designers Calla Haynes, Jean-Pierre Braganza, Todd Lynn and Thomas Tait are all part of this two-day shOws event, hosted by model Coco Rocha and held at the Ritz Carleton. More about PF here >>

Anyhow, back to Peroni Moda Files: Love this pic of Tommy Ton and Anita Clarke (and the pants!) at the Ritz.
