In the Beginning…
Torontostreetfashion.com began in 2005 at the forefront of Canada’s ’street fashion’ culture. At that time, there were very few online Canadian-related fashion resources and online information about Toronto designers and fashion industry professionals was next to nil. In our first few years building the site, we focused on documenting the unique style of people on our streets; providing a place where industry peeps could connect and generating interest in Toronto’s fashion scene.
New Plans…
Since then, our small team has limited our time on the site, as attending parties, fashion shows and store openings is sometimes difficult with full-time jobs and part-time projects. Fortunately though, for 2010, we have plans to switch up content and broaden our focus.
The Team…
Contributors to Torontostreetfashion have been varied and inconsistent, with the exception of a few key players: Rachel Schwab, publisher (even I take hiatus every once in awhile to focus on other aspects of life); Sonja Andic, who is now working as a freelance PR professional but had an integral part of building the brand; Daniel Wilson, primary contributor who also DJs, writes, styles, designs…; and Liza Zawadzka, our fashion week gal/art teacher. Other main previous contributors have been pr gal Tiff Ing, designer Irene Stickney, and photographer Christina Pal.
