shop toronto: canadian stocked

Boutique Le Trou, 940 Queen Street West (2006 - Now Closted)

Boutique Le Trou, one of Toronto’s favorite Candian-stocked shops, is never empty. At any given time, you’re sure to run into a stylist, designer or artist milling about the tiny West Queen West chiffonier.

Self-appointed mother figure to undiscovered talent in Toronto and nurturer of all the more deserving designers, owner Marlene Shiff has soo many visiting friends.

Maybe it’s because of her dedication and support for Canadian fashion: every hand-picked piece she sells in her store is by a Canadian designer – or perhaps as a result of the gallery-like setting of Le Trou, a presentation of the talent she peddles including Zoran Dobric, Yuki Accessories, Obakki, and Jason Matlo, among others.

Most of the people who shop at Boutique Le Trou are ‘cultured urbanites” – gallery goers who appreciate the artistic expression and can afford it!
