Toilet Paper goes Couture: Cdn Cashmere Collection

Designs by (top left) Thien Le | Ula Zukowska | Evan Biddell | David Dixon
Designer Evan Biddell was on Breakfast Television this week showing off his delicate couture Cashmere gown, as part of Cashmere bathroom tissue's Fifth Annual White Cashmere Collection - an endeavour where leading Canadian designers create one-of-a-kind gowns made entirely of toilet paper. Other designers involved include: Arthur Mendonça, David Dixon, Joeffer Caoc, Comrags, Lucian Matis, Thien Le and Ula Zukowska.
This year’s collection also includes new, limited-edition Pink Cashmere, Canada’s first coloured bathroom tissue in a decade. Twenty-five cents from the sale of every package will go to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
The White Cashmere Collection 2008: A Touch of Pink will go on public display in The Bay’s Toronto flagship store windows at Yonge and Richmond Street, for three weeks, starting October 3, as part of the national retailer’s October Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities.

Toilet paper and tampons are ravging the seas and our water - I think it is hardly something to celebrate...I would like it if there was some eco story behind it - sure nice designs - even Bidell's design is very chic - but nothing is chic when your chocking for water and for air .... what is the point - sure breast cancer - I get it - but what about saving Canada and the worlds natural resoures for future generations ???
Lets get real! don't flush for every pee - if its brown flush it down - but try and think beyond this ... to more ....toilet paper is not something that you shoud think lightly about ...use less and fluss less - less water less paper is less waste - use recycled toilet paper and tissue for ur nose ... think about the futue
Oh, come on! This was a fabulous charity event, generously sponsored by Pink Cashmere, with a little bit of humour to boot... Dresses made of toilet paper? Hilarious! There's absolutely an appropriate time and place to voice concerns about the planet's resources, and I agree that it's important to use recycled EVERYTHING but hating on a charity event is definitely not it...
There are bigger fish to fry than a charity fashion show, dah-ling...
