News * New

hi, I'm Rachel (PR freelancer, ex-fashion school student and founder of TSF.com). I started the blog way back in 2005 (before there was barely anything about Toronto fashion online) and spent many really fun years documenting fashion and street fashion in Toronto!

I recently had my second baby boy and my days of fashion parties, designer shows and frivolous shopping are but a happy memory. I still work a little on the blog, do other freelance writing and PR when I can!

So, please don't feel offended if I haven't responded to your E-mail, party invite or store opening. I do pass invites along to other bloggers though and we try to cover what we can!

Thanks for reading!

So, sometimes not going to things mean you miss what happens. For Monday’s Fashion Week events I only stayed as long as the Katya Revenko show and then went home to a warm dinner and a good book, and thus managed to miss all the gossip. This morning my phone was ringing hysterically with reports from the last show last night, Mango, and Robin Kay’s drunken opening night talk.

Personally I like Robin and really do think she is a champion of Canadian fashion. She took Toronto Fashion Week from a backwater stop over between real city’s fashion weeks to an internationally recognized brand – but her behavior last night (more gossip worthy than usual) is sure to get her raked over the coals.

Reports so far range from Robin simply delivering a too long and slightly rambling speech to her being completely incoherent, stumbling and needing to be forcibly removed from the stage (done using a warm hug from a likely friend in the audience).

People perhaps fail to realize that Robin’s job is a year round gig and that most of the work she does happens in the months between fashion weeks. Maybe this week is her chance to finally relax and let off a little steam. But on the other hand, what does it do for fashion week as a brand if it’s figure head and matriarch leaves herself so open to attack?
