The staff is skilled, courteous and stylish – they’ll walk you through the season’s latest colours – from party pinks to OPI’s Pirates line of sun-bleached blues, greens and greys.

Even if you’re not an east end girl, the Ten Spot is worth the trip. After you get The Works, take your gal pals next door to Queen Margherita Pizza – and get your manicured hands on the city’s best pizza. Then mosey westward to Any Direct Flight, where you’ll find expertly tailored togs by Canadian designers. Do stop in at Jaws Antiques (I can’t explain this place – you’ll just have to trust me!), and of course Gadabout is a stone’s throw away. (If you haven’t seen Victoria Dinnick’s horde of vintage finery – obey me now, and thank me later).

My sister and I have indulged in the finest spas in the country, and we both agreed that the services at Ten Spot were as good or better. And be advised – the Ten Spot also offers services for gentlemen – from the Hand Job to the Cracker Jack Wax!
