News * New

hi, I'm Rachel (PR freelancer, ex-fashion school student and founder of TSF.com). I started the blog way back in 2005 (before there was barely anything about Toronto fashion online) and spent many really fun years documenting fashion and street fashion in Toronto!

I recently had my second baby boy and my days of fashion parties, designer shows and frivolous shopping are but a happy memory. I still work a little on the blog, do other freelance writing and PR when I can!

So, please don't feel offended if I haven't responded to your E-mail, party invite or store opening. I do pass invites along to other bloggers though and we try to cover what we can!

Thanks for reading!

Elle New Labels Award Goes to…

April 18th, 2007 | posted by Rachel S | Posted in Features Profiles

After months of preparation and mere minutes of deliberation, Sarah Nicol and Kelly Dowdall of quelques filles won the Elle Canada New Labels Award at lastnight’s Toronto Fashion Incubator 20th Anniversary bash!

Entitled Mi Amor, A Victorian Love Tragedy, the collection scored the most points for its innovation, quality, fit and marketability and featured high-waisted pencil skirts, bubble skirts, bustiers and blouses. The girls teemed heavy velvet, brocade and leather with delicate silk and lace in a purple, olive and brown winning combination.

We overheard mixed emotions throughout the crowd after the ruling (some were less impressed with ‘tacky’ lace skirts and detailing), but with a few misses aside, the quelques filles collection was certainly the most eye-catching and entertaining of the foursome!
